Most women's leather jackets are variations on the biker: asymmetric zip, wide lapels, belt at the waist, buckles at the cuff. It's a strong look and it dominates for a reason. The cafe racer is what you buy when you want the leather without the announcement. The collar sits flat, the zip runs centre, and the shape does the work instead of the fittings.

That difference matters most on a small frame. Lapels and belts add bulk exactly where you don't want it, which is why a fitted racer often sits better than a women's leather biker jacket in the same size. It also layers flatter under a coat.

Lambskin asks for very little. Keep it away from direct heat, let it air dry on its own, condition it once or twice a year and it will hold up for years. The care guide has the detail.
