Black lambskin at three-quarter length, run through with brown: a buckled strap at the collar, brown trim around the chest zip, brown tape on every pull. It is the detail that stops this being another black coat - close enough to read as one across a room, and not once you are near.
Zip it and button the overlap and it holds a clean line over a suit; open, it sits fine over jeans. Mid-thigh, so it covers without turning into a full overcoat.
